Last Week Today: Week End Recap- Jun. 11th to Jun. 17th

Hello Heroes and Travelers, here we are at the end of another week here on Nice Job Breaking It, Hero! Week one of being a working adult has left me exhausted, but I’m enjoying the work so far and I’m getting the hang of things…finally.  Though I’m still not sold on this 6AM wake up time every day, I’ve been conking out the minute I get home everyday…

sleep haikyuu.gif

But, plus side is that I get weekends off, so there must be something to this adulting thing after all. Saw that movie, 47 Meters Down, and it was hilarious, one of those films that are so bad, they’re actually kind of good… maybe if you squint. Oh, and I read one of the most beautiful fanfics the other day, it was just so perfect!!

  1. I Slept With the Bartender?!: Irresistible Mistakes- Go Okubo Main Story– I was fooled by yet another Voltage Inc. character bio, you’d think I’d have learned my lesson by now, but nope… Voltage has Go Okubo billed as a “sweetheart con artist”, which couldn’t have been further from the truth and it’s because of this misleading bio that I almost passed up on one of the best routes in the game.
  2. Thrifty Gaming: Games That Won’t Blow Your Budget #19– The weekly post series where I spotlight three otome games/visual novels for gamers on a budget. Whatever your financial situation, I’m here to bring you affordable games that won’t break the bank!! All of the games on this list are $10 or less (does not include limited time offers and sale items), so no more weepy wallets!

Well, I finally broke down and signed up for some Affiliate Program so that I could possibly make a bit of cash doing this blogging thing. The way affiliate programs work is that I earn a small commission on any products you all buy using my affiliate links. Right now I’m enrolled in Affiliate Programs for Amazon.com, MangaGamer, CD Japanand Play-Asia so expect affiliate links to show up every so often in my posts in the near future. I will let you all know in advance if a post contains any affiliate links and I will update my sidebar with links to specific games and products.

June is known as “Pride Month” within the LGBT & Queer communities in honor of the Stonewall Riots that occurred at the end of June in 1969. At OWLS, we strongly support individuals who are part of the LGBT & Queer communities as well as individuals who are struggling with their sexual orientation or gender identity.
“Team” functions in two ways: 1) allows individuals to show their support to the LGBT & Queer communities and 2) allows LGBT & Queer communities to express their love to whoever they want.
So for the “Team” topic, we will be discussing our favorite LGBT & Queer characters in anime and other pop culture related media, the impact of the yaoi and yuri genre within LGBT & Queer communities, our personal stories involving gender/sexual orientation, and etc

This past week’s Blog Tour guides was Remy (The Lily Garden) who wrote a personal post about the perceptions of male crossdressers in Japanese media  and Katrina Sade  (Grimm Girl) who wrote about the fetishization of yaoi media.

This Week’s OWLS Blog Tour Stops

  1. Arria Cross (Fujinsei)– June 19th
  2. Naja (Nice Breaking It, Hero)– June 21st
  3. Zoe (Let’s Talk Anime)– June 23rd

There are plenty of Blog Tour Stops coming your way this month so be on the look out for announcements on the Official OWLS Twitter @OWLSbloggers, where we will keep you guys updated on each of the upcoming posts and other OWLS news!

I really want to hear from you guys, let me know what you think of Nice Job Breaking It, Hero. What do you think about this change? Do you guys like my posts?
