Hello Heroes and Travelers, here we are at the end of another week here on Nice Job Breaking It, Hero! After months of job hunting and short term temp jobs, I finally, FINALLY got a long term assignment! I also have two interviews next week for full time positions in my field of study, but I am just relieved to be working again… though getting up early in the morning is going to take some getting used to, but I’m excited nonetheless!

  6. Let’s Show Our Support for “Chess of Blades” A BL Visual Novel (Relaunched)!!– Back in March Argent Games launched a Kickstarter campaign for their second BL visual novel Chess of Blades, however they were unable to raise the necessary funding by their April deadline… so, they took a step back to reevaluated the project and I am happy to say that they are giving Kickstarter another go!! So, if you missed out on supporting the first campaign now is the time to show your support!!
  7. Fangirl Moment: Roommates (Seok Young)– This week I covered a Korean webcomic I discovered a little while ago, Roommates (aka Can’t Confess) by Seok Young, translated by Han. This is a fun comic about two friends that secretly harbor feelings for one another, things only get a bit more complicated when they suddenly become roommates… It’s just as awkward and hilarious as you’d imagine!

Well, I finally broke down and signed up for some Affiliate Program so that I could possibly make a bit of cash doing this blogging thing. The way affiliate programs work is that I earn a small commission on any products you all buy using my affiliate links. Right now I’m enrolled in Affiliate Programs for Amazon.com, MangaGamer, CD Japanand Play-Asia so expect affiliate links to show up every so often in my posts in the near future. I will let you all know in advance if a post contains any affiliate links and I will update my sidebar with links to specific games and products.

June is known as “Pride Month” within the LGBT & Queer communities in honor of the Stonewall Riots that occurred at the end of June in 1969. At OWLS, we strongly support individuals who are part of the LGBT & Queer communities as well as individuals who are struggling with their sexual orientation or gender identity.
“Team” functions in two ways: 1) allows individuals to show their support to the LGBT & Queer communities and 2) allows LGBT & Queer communities to express their love to whoever they want.
So for the “Team” topic, we will be discussing our favorite LGBT & Queer characters in anime and other pop culture related media, the impact of the yaoi and yuri genre within LGBT & Queer communities, our personal stories involving gender/sexual orientation, and etc

This past week’s Blog Tour guides was Takuto (Takuto’s Anime Cafe) who wrote a personal post about his experiences with his high school swim team.

This Week’s OWLS Blog Tour Stops

  1. Remy Fool (The Lily Garden) June 12th
  2. Katrina Sade (Grimm Girl) June 16th

There are plenty of Blog Tour Stops coming your way this month so be on the look out for announcements on the Official OWLS Twitter @OWLSbloggers, where we will keep you guys updated on each of the upcoming posts and other OWLS news!

Here we are again at the end of another Recap Post, where I highlight four interesting posts from other bloggers that showed up on my Reader this past week…

For the Team – Free! & My Swim Story | OWLS “Team”This post comes from Takuto of Takuto’s Anime Cafe! I don’t like to pick favorites among my fellow OWLS blogger’s posts, but Taku’s post made me feel things. In this beautifully written post Taku shares his own experiences with his high school swim club and how the anime series, Free! influenced his journey. I can’t praise this post enough, not only does Taku relate his personal insecurities and triumphs, but he also manages to capture the underlying message of such an influential anime series! Go read it NOW!!

The Mummy (Dark Universe Series #1)This post comes from  Crimson of Crimson & Co. Blog About Books! I absolutely loved the 90’s Mummy film series, they were fun movies that never quite took themselves seriously enough and it worked. So, when I saw that there was going to be another “Mummy” film reboot, I was not exactly thrilled, since it stripped away everything that made the previous films so iconic in favor of a traditional Hollywood monster flick… Thankfully Crim suffered through the new film so that I didn’t have to. This is an honest review of the film and while it’s rather short, she does a fantastic job of touching on the positive and negative aspects of the film.

Derailing the Future: Orange– This post comes from Rayz from Mirror Purple! When the anime series Orange first aired it caused quite a buzz in the anime community. Reviewers praised the series for it’s complex characters and thought provoking plot… The overall consensus was overwhelmingly positive, but in this short review, Rayz gives a bit of an alternative view of the series.

5 Sizzling Hot Male Redheads with an AttitudeThis post comes from Venus of Japanime Talks! How could I pass up a post with such a delicious sounding title? Whatever season it is where you live, this list is sure to turn up the heat. This is a a fun list and a must read for folks that want to add a bit of spice into their lives!!

So here we are at the end of this week’s post! Be sure to check out some of the bloggers from this week’s Weekly Blogger Spotlight, and drop them a line! Strike up a conversation or make a new friend! Don’t be shy get out there and mingle! 😉 Also, don’t worry if your post wasn’t featured in this week’s recap, keep writing and keep posting! I’ll keep my eye out!

See something in your Reader this week that you wanna share? Tell me what you think about my post? Anything you want to see more of? Less of? Have an idea for a post? Shoot me a line in the comments section  or Message me on Twitter! Don’t be shy, I swear I don’t bite! I appreciate input and discussions from my readers so let your voice be heard…and finally, as always Thank You for reading!

  3. Hm, I might look into the affiliate link thing. I’ve been thinking about Patreon, but I don’t feel like I have enough to offer people yet lol. Maybe when I update my blog to premium and finally get around to editing and posting the 200 videos I have and start making new ones regularly. The affiliate things is a good idea though hm…
