Since I skipped last week, I’m including all the posts I wrote for the past two weeks in this week’s recap post…

  1. Full Service- Demo ReviewDouble entendres and buff naked hunks abound in Herculion’s upcoming 18+ BL game, Full Service. The game follows Tomoki Nakamoto an overworked young office worker with a rather cynical outlook on life. When a stranger hands him a business card to the Full Service Spa, he encounters a colorful cast of characters that are more than happy to help Tomoki relieve a little “stress”.
  2. [Announcement] I am Currently in KuroTsuki Hell!– I needed a bit of a break, so I wrote a short post explaining why I didn’t write much of anything this week.

I’ll be writing for MANGA.TOKYO!!

manga tokyo logo

So I mentioned that I had a super special awesome announcement, well here it is! I heard about this site through my work with OWL: Otaku Warriors for Liberty and Self-Respect and when our dear secretary mentioned that there might be a chance to write for them I jumped at the opportunity.

MANGA.TOKYO covers a wide range of topics related to Japan and Japanese media, so there’s something for everyone there!! I finally got one of my articles published, it’s a review of the BL manga, Ten Countso definitely check that out and be on the look out for more articles in the near future.

Affiliate Links

Well, I finally broke down and signed up for some Affiliate Program so that I could possibly make a bit of cash doing this blogging thing. The way affiliate programs work is that I earn a small commission on any products you all buy using my affiliate links.  Right now I’m enrolled in Affiliate Programs for Amazon.com, MangaGamer, and Play-Asia so expect affiliate links to show up every so often in my posts in the near future. I will let you all know in advance if a post contains any affiliate links and I will update my sidebar with links to specific games and products.

The 5th OWLS Blog Tour- Strength is under way! Each OWLS member will be uploading their individual posts throughout the month of May!

“Your greatest weakness can become your greatest strength.”
In anime, characters struggle with inner demons or physical weaknesses that make them feel insecure and prevent them from achieving goals. Yet when these characters overcome their adversity, they can finally be able to express who they are or in other words, “Free to be Me.”
For this tour, we will be exploring anime characters that have overcome adversity due to a personal insecurity or physical weakness. It is these type of characters that many anime fans may identify as role models because fans are able to feel empathetic towards these characters’ struggles and insecurities.

This past week’s Blog Tour guides were Matthew Castillo (Matt-in-the-Hat), who wrote about the meaning of strength in Dragonball Z, and Nick Burkhalter (Chasing Japan) who wrote about his emotional experience visiting Genbaku Dome in Japan.

This Week’s OWLS Blog Tour Stops

  1. crimson613 (My Fujoshi Life)– May 10th
  2. Katrina Sade (Grimmgirl)– May 12th

There are plenty of Blog Tour Stops coming your way this month so be on the look out for announcements on the Official OWLS Twitter @OWLSbloggers, where we will keep you guys updated on each of the upcoming posts and other OWLS news!

I really want to hear from you guys, let me know what you think of Nice Job Breaking It, Hero. What do you think about this change? Do you guys like my posts? The Potential of Romance│Using Romance as an IncentiveThis post comes from TheAnimePrince of The Anime Prince Blog! I am a sucker for anything romance related, but even I have to admit that it’s not always depicted well in the media. In this post, TheAnimePrince looks at how romance is is portrayed in various anime series and the effect of these portrayals on the overall narrative.

What Did Shoujo Say? A Guide to Anime TerminologyThis post comes from Shoujo Thoughts of Shoujo Thoughts and Otaku Ramblings! Well, Shoujo Thoughts has made learning anime terminology a bit easier with this helpful guide!!

Mori Girls and Anime– This post comes from RemyFool from The Lily Garden! Fashion has never been (and probably never will be) my area of expertise, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have a healthy appreciation for it. In this post, RemyFool gives an in depth look at ‘Mori Girl’ fashion, learn about the mori girl subculture in Japan and look at some of the common fashion pieces associated with it.

Game Review: Persona 5 DatingThis post comes from bobaandgames of Boba and Games! Persona fever is still going strong and in this post, bobaandgames looks at the romanceable options in Persona 5! This is a thourough look at the lovely ladies of P5 and their role in the game!

  1. I’m so excited to have more otome games to take with me on my Vita :D. Congrats on writing for Manga Tokyo and for going commercial with your blogging! The way your blog grew so rapidly is an inspiration to me as well :). Thanks for the shout out!

    1. Yes!! 2017 is the Year of Otoges, my poor Vita wasn’t ready for all that use LOL

Thanks dear, I’m just glad they think my writing was good enough to bring me on. Yeah, hopefully this helps alleviate some of my gaming expenses so that I can write more reviews.

IKR! I am still surprised that I kept up with blogging for so long and yes, I can’t wait to see more stuff from you and your blog!! You’re still in school right?

      1. WAAAAAH we’re both in the real world now LOL! I’m still trying to nail down a stable job in my field, but there are a few promising opportunities. But, mostly, it’s a lot of job applications and networking *sigh*

      2. You can do it! I kept a spreadsheet until I hit about 130 job apps then stopped tracking because it was disheartening 😂. I think I probably applied to 200+ before I got one that fit. It takes time but don’t give up!
