So, I’m working on cramming a weeks worth of work into one day… today in fact! But, it has been a slow go, because I keep getting distracted by shows and movies, Netflix is both a gift and a curse!

I have a lot of content to go through and it is literally just me running this show and I am human, I miss stuff all the time… so if you see something weird please let me know. 🙂

I’ll be writing for MANGA.TOKYO!!

manga tokyo logo

So I mentioned that I had a super special awesome announcement, well here it is! I heard about this site through my work with OWL: Otaku Warriors for Liberty and Self-Respect and when our dear secretary mentioned that there might be a chance to write for them I jumped at the opportunity.

MANGA.TOKYO covers a wide range of topics related to Japan and Japanese media, so there’s something for everyone there!! I’m still getting stuff set up with them, so I don’t have anything up yet, but I’ll definitely keep you guys posted about that!! Yay!! I’m so excited and a bit nervous about this since, this’ll be my first time writing for an official site like this… but, I figure if I can write about what I love it’ll be fun!

Affiliate Links

affiliates.png

Well, I finally broke down and signed up for some Affiliate Program so that I could possibly make a bit of cash doing this blogging thing. The way affiliate programs work is that I earn a small commission on any products you all buy using my affiliate links.  Right now I’m enrolled in Affiliate Programs for Amazon.com, MangaGamer, and Play-Asia so expect affiliate links to show up every so often in my posts in the near future. I will let you all know in advance if a post contains any affiliate links and I will update my sidebar with links to specific games and products.

The 4th OWLS Blog Tour- Colors is under way! Each OWLS member will be uploading their individual posts throughout the month of March!

We are all part of one race, the human race. “Colors” refers to people of color in anime. For this monthly topic, we will be discussing how people of color or characters of different “races” (a literal alien race) are represented in anime. Some topics we are considering is the dangers of stereotyping, bi-racial characters, and the importance of racial inclusion.

This past week’s Blog Tour guides were Arria Cross (Fujinsei), who wrote about racewashing in the Attack on Titan Live Action, Remy Fool (The Lily Garden) who wrote about self stereotyping in Japanese media, Katrina Sade (Grimmgirl) and my post about diversity in Bleach, Lita (LitaKino Anime Corner) and her post about the role of effect genetic modification in Gundam Seed!

And… the Blog Tour guides from two weeks ago: Hazelyn (Archi-Anime), who wrote about Revolutionary Girl UtenaLynLyn (Just Something About LynLyn), who wrote about Abu Dahbi RomanceStephanie Clarke (Anime Girls NYC), who wrote about Twin Star Exorcist; and Takuto (Takuto’s Anime Cafe), who wrote about races and factions in Tales of Symphonia: The Animation!

This Week’s OWLS Blog Tour Stops

  1. Erendira (Sakura Daisuki)– April 24th
  2. crimson613 (My Fujoshi Life)– April 26th
  3. Pink-chan (Pinky’s Palace)– April 28th
  4.  Steph (Two Happy Cats)– April 29th

Anime Crush: Sawamura DaichiThis post comes from Mel of Mel in Anime Land! I thought long and hard about this one, but I decided to choose Mel’s Daichi post instead of the Tsukishima post. I know, revoke my Tsukki fangirl card, but here me out… When I saw all of those Daichi pics, I just couldn’t not choose the guy, he is just so cute! This is a fun post celebrating Karasuno’s awesome captain and a must read for fans of Haikyuu!!

A must read if you are looking for some great games to add to your must play list!!

The Advantages of Longer Series– This post comes from Scott from Mechanical Anime ReviewsAnyone that watches anime knows what it’s like to fall in love with a long, it’s a double edged sword. On one hand you get to spend a lot of time with all of your favorite characters, but on the flip side, they take forever to finish! In this post Scott writes about the joys of longer anime series! This is a fun read and great for when you find yourself struggling to finish an especially long series!

[Anime Review]: Suisei no Gargantia (Including OVAs)This post comes from Silvachief  of The Geek ClinicSuisei no Gargantia is one of my favorite anime series. I saw it a while ago and never expected to like it all that much, but boy was I wrong, this is a hidden gem!
