Thrifty Gaming: Games That Won’t Blow Your Budget #14

Hello all you wonderful Heroes and Travelers, it’s Thrifty Thursday and that means another Thrifty Gamer, the weekly post series where I spotlight three otome games/visual novels for gamers on a budget. Whatever your financial situation, I’m here to bring you affordable games that won’t break the bank!! All of the games on this list are $10 or less (does not include limited time offers and sale items), so no more weepy wallets!

This week’s post will include links to the games and a brief synopsis, but let me stress that these are not reviews, but recommendations… so your mileage may vary! Now that that’s out of the way lets get on to this week’s list!!

Hatoful Boyfriend- Holiday Star is a commercial GxB(ird) fantasy romance visual novel and the sequel to Hatoful Boyfriend (2014). Unlike traditional otome games that feature a diverse cast of male (or female) love interests, the romanceable characters in Hatoful Boyfriend are birds.

-Synopsis

Sengoku Darling is a pay per route GxB historical romance mobile otome game.  There are currently a total of six love interests. While the prologue is completely free to play, each of the main stories, the individual routes cost money. This app uses a coin based route purchasing system, that streamlines in app purchases without the need to go through the app stores for each purchase. Each main story route is 500 coins, which is roughly $4.99 USD.

-Synopsis

Cinderella Phenomenon is a fantasy visual novel with five pursuable  love interests and a total of TEN endings (two per love interest). At the start of the game, two of the routes are locked (Fritz and Waltz), however, once players complete at least two of the three unlocked routes, the locked routes will be available to play. Dicesuki Games has released a recommended play order that attempts to keep spoilers to a minimum: Rod→ Karma Rumpel→Fritz→ Waltz
