30 Day Anime Challenge- Day 0: Introduction

Okay, so I’ve been hinting at this for a while now…well the wait is over! I am excited to finally announce that during the month of July, I will be completing the 30 Day Anime Challenge! I saw how much fun my girl, Katrina Sade was having with the challenge over on her blog GrimmGirl.com, and I thought why not give it a try myself? I will attempt to complete the challenge in 30 days, a task I have been warned is damn near impossible… But, we’ll just see how this goes… At the bottom of this post is the breakdown of the prompts for each day, so that you guys know what to expect in the coming days…

Finally, I mentioned this before in my Last Week Today post, but this challenge is extremely time consuming. I have been trying to work on my regular reviews as much as possible so that you guys won’t be inundated with the back to back daily anime posts. But, like I said before, this challenge has taken up a great deal of my blogging time so expect my review schedule to slow considerably. The Sunday Last Week Today posts and the Friday Fangirl Moment posts will not be effected in any way by this challenge, only the game reviews. I am doing my best to work on reviews in addition to the Challenge posts, but don’t expect much lol…

What do you think about the announcement? Are you excited to see my responses to the prompts? Do you think I can finish it in the 30 days allotted by the challenge? Let me know what you think in the comments section. Somehow I feel like this is going to be a long month! As always, THANK YOU for reading!!!

Okay so I’m totally bragging right now, but I just bought Zero Time Dilemma from my local Gamestop!!! Apparently they only shipped 2 copies and I got the last one!! But, unfortunately they only had the Vita version, so I won’t have the complete series with the Nintendo DS/3DS…. But, I got it! Finally my Vita has fulfilled it’s usefulness!!

Mini Review: Sweet Fuse-At Your Side

Sweet Fuse At Your Side

Alternative Title: Bomb Decision (Japan)

Year: 2013

Developer: Aksys

Platforms: PSP

So I came across this game back in 2013, I remember all the hype surrounding it, but at the time I didn’t have a PSP, so I wasn’t able to join in the first wave of players. I then was able to gain access to a PSP and a copy of the game and I absolutely loved it! While it is billed as an otoge, Sweet Fuse plays more like a adventure, puzzle visual novel than your typical romance visual novel. So when it went on sale in the PSN store I immediately went out and bought a copy of the game for myself.

The first route of the game that I played was Subaru Shidou, because I don’t know if I mentioned this before…but I have a thing for megane men. Plus he’s gorgeous, the typical otoge hottie and that suit…sexy!

Last Week Today: Week End Recap- Jun. 19th to Jun. 25th

Hello Heroes and Travelers, here we are at the end of another week here on Nice Job Breaking It, Hero! This has been a pretty slow week for me… Like super duper slow… I had zero motivation to do anything, so I spent the week binge watching The Incredible Hulk television series on Netflix…

binge

I also found out that I will not be starting my summer job on Monday, instead I have to wait another week… something about paperwork delays… So, I will have one final week of summer left before I have to get my act together and do that adulting thing.

Fangirl Moment: Steven Universe

TGIF! Here we are again with another Fangirl Friday! This week I’m covering an American cartoon series, Steven Universe. I absolutely adored this series from the first episode and every episode since then reminds me just how awesome of a series this is! If you haven’t heard about Steven Universe, you are missing out! This show has it all, and it is refreshingly progressive for a children’s show covering a wide range of topics such as; grief, same sex relationships, and death to name a few.

The show was created by Rebecca Sugar, the former storyboard artist another Cartoon Network animated series, Adventure Time. She was also the storyboard artist 2012 computer animated feature film, Hotel Transylvania. On top of all of that she also produces the songs for the  show…which are awesome!!!

My Lover is an Apathetic God: Star Crossed Myth- Aigonorus Review

So it’s no secret that I am a fan of Voltage Inc’s Star Crossed Myth, I have already written two reviews on the game already. But, in the past I’ve mostly stuck to the gods from the Department of Punishments (do with that information what you will), completely neglecting the gods from the Department of Wishes. So it’s high time I show them some love, and what better choice for my first Wishes god than Heudhault Aigonorus?!

IMG_2704

Aignorous is the god of Capricorn, the guy who’s just too lazy to be bothered with…anything. As if his bedroom eyes and permanent bed head, weren’t enough indication that this guy isn’t the most vigorous god of the zodiac. I know I say this every time, but I was not expecting to like Aigonorus as much as I did, especially after someone on Tumblr compared him to Sasuke Uchiha! I was worried I’d been too hasty in buying this route, but after playing through it, I can safely say that he is most definitely nothing like Sasuke. In truth, Aigonorus is probably closest to Shikamaru, as both characters possess an almost superhuman level of apathy.

My Lover is the Master Swordsman of the Shinsengumi- Era of Samurai: Code of Love- Soji Okita

When I first saw Soji Okita in the prologue, he scared me a bit. He just looks like someone who’d kills indiscriminately, but after playing Hijikata’s route my opinion changed. He seemed like a genuinely okay, if not a little too playful, guy, so when Voltage released his story earlier than expected I decided to buy it.

I take it back…I take back all of the cruel things I said about this guy, he was a much better character than I originally anticipated. I loved Soji in Hakuouki so I was expecting Voltage’s version to pale in comparison, but what I got was a heartbreakingly sweet portrayal of a very tragic character. There is definitely more to this cold swordsman than his reputation would have you believe.

My Lover is the Demon Deputy of the Shinsengumi- Era of Samurai: Code of Love- Toshizo Hijikata

No matter which adaption of the Shinsengumi story you play, Hijikata is always the same, so I kind of knew what to expect from Hijikata before I even started this route. Well Voltage did not disappoint, he turned out exactly as I would imaging the Vice-commander of the Shinsengumi to be.

Toshizo Hijikata is the terrifying right hand man and friend of Shinsengumi leader Isami Kondo. His cold stare and commanding battle prowess have earned him the nickname Demon Deputy among the Shinsengumi men. He is a man of honor an dignity, willing to do whatever it takes for the Shinsengumi, even if it means sacrificing something he holds dear. But is that all there is to the Demon Deputy? What does Hijikata the man want?
